Yes. As long as you are a New Paltz resident or work here, the New Paltz Police Department will fingerprint you on fingerprint cards that you provide. Most common are fingerprint requests for job applications, adoptions or local, state or federal permits. These services are available 24 hours a day and are done on a first come first serve basis. Due to the nature of police work, appointments for this service cannot be taken. Additionally, in the event our duty room (where our fingerprint station is located) is unavailable due to a special detail or housing a prisoner or if our officers are tied up on emergency calls, you be will asked to wait or return at another time. You can call ahead at (845) 255-1323 to see how busy the shift is however there are no guarantees and you will only receive a final answer when you show up at the police department. In the event your application is for the State Education Department, please complete all paperwork ahead of time and make sure to have your money order with you. Once your Education Department packet is complete and your fingerprints are taken, you will be leaving that packet with the police department who will be sending it in for you.
